The solderless PCB connector design of the 1.85 mm RF connector is built for demanding millimeter wave layouts where you need mode-free performance through 65 GHz, a mostly air dielectric structure, and a support bead set back inside the body to reduce interaction in a mated pair. Its interface is engineered so the outer conductors engage before the center conductors make contact, which helps protect signal integrity in high-frequency test fixtures and compact board launches. The M7 thread is compatible only with the 2.4 mm interface, and adapters are available to mate 1.85 mm to SMA and 2.92 mm connectors, giving you more flexibility when you need to bridge mixed systems, simplify lab integration, and avoid redesigning the full signal path.
